“So many people looking for where they belong”.....
In early March 2020, Moving Pictures played the last of four preview shows to their much-anticipated “40 Years of Innocence” Tour. Unbeknownst to all at the time, it was to be the last weekend of large-crowd live music performances before a global pandemic shut the industry down.
Recorded and filmed under palm trees and starry skies at The Toronto Hotel on the banks of Lake Macquarie, this dynamic performance reunites the members of Moving Pictures in front of a live audience, and rekindles new life into the music that propelled them into the stratosphere back in those innocent early 80’s.
Sounding better than ever, Alex Smith (vocals), Garry Frost (lead guitar), Ian Lees (bass guitar), Mark Meyer (drums), Charlie Cole (keyboards) and newcomer Scott Simpkins (saxophone) deliver a rich and high-energy performance of tracks from their iconic Australian album “Days of Innocence”, their international hit “Never” from the movie “Footloose”, their soon-to-be-released new single & some much-loved re-versions of their favourite rock-&-roll classics.
They gave us the soundtrack for suburbia and now it lives again.
